Situation
Stericycle was experiencing issues with loads being improperly secured during transit, leading to safety hazards and operational inefficiencies for both drivers and facilities workers. The need for clear, engaging training arose to address proper load securement, unloading procedures, and customer responsibilities.
Task
My task was to design an interactive training program that would educate drivers and facilities workers on how to properly secure loads, avoid common mistakes, and ensure safety throughout the loading and unloading process.
Action
I utilized Vyond to create a narrative-driven training, portraying a typical day-in-the-life of a facilities worker. The video illustrated key tasks, safety protocols, and potential pitfalls workers may encounter. I leveraged Vyond’s tools to make the script engaging and relatable, using visual storytelling. I then split the video into parts and integrated it into Articulate Storyline, adding quizzes after each section to test learner comprehension and reinforce key lessons.
Results
The training was well-received, leading to improved understanding of load securement processes and fewer reported incidents related to improper handling during transit. Feedback from learners indicated that the scenario-based training was both engaging and effective in clarifying the responsibilities of drivers and customers.
