Situation

The annual compensation planning process is a significant event, involving updates and training for new people managers on how to perform this task for their employees. In previous years, it primarily consisted of live sessions held across multiple time zones worldwide and was not e-learning.

Task

I used Rise as the course container but also incorporated Camtasia and Storyline to enhance interactivity, with narration by Damon Patterson.

Action

As the course designer and developer, I created all interactivity and Storylines, assuming responsibility for the course’s direction.

Results

Adding these elements enhanced the overall course experience.

Storyboard

Having a storyboard greatly benefited the course direction and saved considerable rewrite time. A substantial portion of the course was omitted in the final product, as stakeholders decided to reduce emphasis on introductory concepts.

The storyboard was created and shared using Microsoft Word online, allowing for comments before Storylines were developed or finalized.

Storyline
